Petroleum Engineering
Montana Tech Petroleum Engineering Student Clubs

In Petroleum Engineering at Montana Tech you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of natural resource recovery, the economics of the industry, and respect for the environment.

You’ll also gain hands-on practice through five high-tech labs on campus and in field experiences across the state and beyond. And, with a degree from Montana Tech, you’ll be in demand whether you enter industry or pursue a graduate degree.

With our students in mind, this year we are raising funds for three of our student clubs, the Montana Tech Chapters of American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and PetroBowl.

The Montana Tech Chapter of AADE helps to further the development and understanding of oil field drilling techniques and technologies on the Montana Tech campus. Montana Tech AADE student members host fundraisers and events throughout the year, dedicate time to local non profit activities and participate in learning opportunities as well as national meetings and conferences.

The Montana Tech SPE Student Chapter provide each member with opportunities for professional and personal growth by the planning and execution of technical, social, and cultural activities. The Montana Tech SPE Student Chapter hosts an annual symposium in the spring as well as other events throughout the year, they travel to the international Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in the fall as well as the North American Student Symposium (NASS) every spring. In addition SPE students are very active in the Butte community.

Montana Tech's PetroBowl Team competes in the National PetroBowl competition that takes place annually each February. PetroBowl matches SPE student chapter teams against each other in a fast-paced quiz competition.  The competing teams are challenged to answer both technical and non-technical questions associated with the oil and gas industry and the event has grown in size and popularity every year since its debut in 2002.

This DayOne, the Petroleum Engineering Department is asking you to support these student clubs, you can choose to give to one or a combination of the three (if you would like to support multiple clubs just choose the add gift option when processing your donation) and funds will go directly to the student group of your choice. Please consider giving today and investing in our students at Montana Tech.

Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media, by email and tell your friends!
