DayOne 2022

DayOne 2022 has concluded.  Thank you to all of you who made such an incredible impact for our Montana Technological University students, programs, scholarships and initiatives.

For over 120 years, Montana Technological University has been an institution of opportunity and innovation, a place for determined doers to prepare to make an impact in their profession and on our world.

Montana Tech (then the Montana State School of Mines) opened its doors on the 11th of September 1900 with one building (Main Hall) and two degrees (Mining Engineering and Electrical Engineering). It was our DayOne. Now, over 120 years later, we boast two growing campuses between Montana Tech and Highlands College and offer over 60 degrees.

To celebrate our history, and our growth, we will hold our sixth annual two-day digital fundraising event DayOne on the 8th and 9th of September 2022. The goal is to bring together our Montana Tech community, share what is happening on our campuses, and raise funds for our students, departments, and programs in focused areas.

During our DayOne 2022 event, in addition to project-specific matches, we will have special matching opportunities for our First Time Donors, Student Donors, and Faculty and Staff Donors, as well as a participation-based Departmental Challenge. Below is a description of each:

DayOne Departmental Challenge - Total match dollars $20,000

Departments will go head-to-head for a chance to earn extra money by bringing in the most unique individual donors to their project. The top ten finishers split the pot, valued at up to $20,000, ranging from $5,000 for the top finisher to $500 for 10th place. Please note that the Montana Technological University Foundation will be monitoring unique donors and adjusting as needed to keep the challenge accurate. The DayOne Departmental Challenge will kick off at 6 am on September 8th, 2022, and run through noon on September 9th, 2022.

First Time Donor Match - Total Match Dollars $5,000

First-time donor gifts will be matched 1:1 for each dollar given, from a matching pool of $5,000. That means your gift of $50 actually has the impact of $100. To take advantage of this matching opportunity make sure to answer yes to being a first-time donor on the DayOne 2022 giving form. Please note that the Montana Technological University Foundation will be monitoring unique donors and adjusting as needed to keep the challenge accurate. This matching opportunity will be available from 6 am September 8th, 2022 through 11:59 pm September 9th, 2022, or sooner if the $5,000 match has been met.

Student Donor Match - Total Match Dollars $5,000

Montana Tech student donor gifts will be matched 1:1 for each dollar given from a matching pool of $5,000. That means your gift of $50 actually has the impact of $100. To take advantage of this matching opportunity make sure to answer yes to being a currently enrolled Montana Tech student on the giving form. Please note that the Montana Technological University Foundation will be monitoring unique donors and adjusting as needed to keep the match accurate. This matching opportunity will be available from 6 am September 8th, 2022, through 11:59 pm September 9th, 2022, or sooner if the $5,000 match has been met.

Faculty Staff Participation Match Challenge - Total Match Dollars $5,000

$5,000 will be unlocked at the time 50 Montana Tech faculty/staff members have participated in DayOne 2022. Upon completion of the entire DayOne 2022 giving event $100 will be applied to the project to which the original gift was made for each of those donors. Please note that the Montana Technological University Foundation will be verifying faculty/staff status and adjusting as needed to keep the match accurate.

As an added bonus 100 DayOne 2022 donors will be randomly selected at the conclusion of the event to receive a one of a kind Dig City Supply T-shirt. Make sure to select your shirt size on the donation form so that you are eligible. Plus every DayOne 2022 donor will receive a Dig City Supply sticker of the same design mailed with their gift receipt letter.
