Experiential Learning Opportunities for Montana Tech Business Students

The undergraduate Business program at Montana Technological University is designed to supplement traditional business coursework with state-of-the-art information technology.

Business at Montana Tech has outstanding faculty combined with smaller class sizes and strives to offer a very rich experience for our students.

The mission of the Business Department is to prepare tomorrow’s business leaders for the challenges of a dynamic global business environment. In a nutshell, at Montana Tech, business students learn to creatively solve problems.

To this end, the Business Department is raising funds for the Business Departmental Fund to support student activities related to experiential learning opportunities.

Last spring, we leveraged Departmental Funds to enter a team, for the first time, in the North America ERP Simulation Regional Competition, hosted by HEC Montreal.  MT Tech competed against much larger schools, from Arkansas, California, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Ontario, and Quebec. Many of these universities have teams with graduate students and have participated in this annual competition numerous times. MT Tech placed seventh in the first round, which was a very credible showing for a first-time effort.

Additionally, we plan to continue work towards the development of our SAP Next Gen Lab and student collaboration center. We want to take the education that happens in the classroom and find opportunities for our students to apply it in real-world scenarios. To facilitate this we are raising funds to create programs for our students to work and learn with businesses in the Butte community.

We strive to offer all available experiences to students in a safe environment. All of these better prepare our students to enter the workforce upon graduation. A gift to the Business Departmental Fund  allows us to support and enhance our student's education by adding experiences outside the classroom, whether in person or virtual, to give them the chance for experiential learning and real-world on-the-job opportunities.

During DayOne 2022 each gift made to the Business Departmental Fund will be matched 1:1 up to $2,000 made possible by a generous gift from Jack and Leah McCarthy.

Please make a gift to the Business Departmental Fund to enrich the experience of Montana Tech's Business students. Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media, by email, and tell your friends!
