The undergraduate Business program at Montana Technological University is not just another business program. It's a unique blend of traditional business coursework and cutting-edge information technology. With outstanding faculty, smaller class sizes, and a commitment to providing a rich learning experience, we offer our students opportunities that are truly one-of-a-kind.
The mission of the Business Department is not just a statement, but a call to action. We are here to prepare tomorrow's business leaders to tackle the challenges of a dynamic global business environment. At Montana Tech, our business students don't just learn to solve problems creatively, they learn to inspire change and make a real difference in the world of business.
To this end, the Business Department is raising funds for the Business Departmental Fund to support student activities related to experiential learning opportunities and the newly created Rita Spear Business Scholarship to support our Montana Tech Business students. Rita retired in Spring 2024, and we want to honor her commitment to student support with an award in her name that will continue her legacy.
Montana Tech is the only university in Montana officially designated a SAP University Alliance. SAP is the world's leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software used by 87% of the Fortune Global 2000 companies, and students work collaboratively to analyze complex data sets, identify issues, and find solutions. You will learn multiple analytical applications, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SAP® Analytics Cloud, Orange, and Minitab, ensuring you are equipped with valuable skills for the digital age. You will learn how to make data-driven decisions that drive informed decision-making using modern business analytics and visualization software. These skills can readily transfer to the accounting and management industry, which now incorporates data analytics in practice, and business students at Montana Tech can pursue this option in the degree.
We opened our new SAP Next-Gen Lab and student collaboration center this past year. There are less than 20 SAP Next-Gen Labs in the United States, and this area will allow our students to apply the education they get in the classroom in real-world scenarios. Departmental funds will enable us to create programs for our students to work and learn with real data from businesses interested in hiring our students and the Butte community. This education will better prepare our students to enter the workforce upon graduation. A gift to the Business Departmental Fund allows us to support and enhance our student's education by adding experiences outside the classroom, whether in person or virtual, to give them a chance for experiential learning and real-world, on-the-job opportunities.
During DayOne each gift made to the Business Departmental Fund will be matched 1:1 up to $2,000, made possible by a generous gift from Jack '73 and Leah McCarthy.
During DayOne gifts to the Rita Spear Business Scholarship are matched 1:1 up to $1,000.
Your support is crucial to us. Please consider making a gift to the Business Departmental Fund and the Rita Spear Business Scholarship. Your contribution will enrich and enhance the experience of Montana Tech's Business students, and we couldn't do it without you.
Thank you for your support, and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media or by email, and tell your friends about it!
