Montana Tech graduates in Geological Engineering work all over the world searching for mineral resources and evaluating rocks, soils, and environmental impacts for construction, resource development, and industrial projects. The program stresses an in-depth summer field camp that focuses on solutions to real world problems. The department is home to a state-of-the-art triaxial testing lab, an underground mine facility, a computer lab equipped with geotechnical engineering and groundwater modeling software, and offers a 4-week summer field camp which is divided into 3 two week modules where students take 2 weeks of field geology and 2 weeks of either field hydrology or geotechnical engineering. We feel this 4-week summer field camp is integral to our students' education.
This year for DayOne, we are raising funds to help amplify outreach and recruitment of the next generation of Geological Engineers with a focus on our Geological Engineering Department Fund. By making a gift to our Geological Engineering Department Fund, we can increase our recruitment efforts, as well as offer scholarships to prospective students and our current students participating field camps students. Please consider giving today and investing in our students at Montana Tech.
During DayOne, thanks to a generous gift from Nick '92 and Kari '94 Olds, all gifts to Geological Engineering Department Fund will be matched 1:1 up to $2,000.
Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media, by email and tell your friends!
