Highlands College
Vickie Petritz Memorial Garden at Highlands College

Highlands College is a small school that enjoys the luxuries of a beautiful setting, fine instructional faculty, and a warm, supportive learning environment.

We serve the greater Butte Region through our associate degree and certificate programs, continuing education, and customized training. Complete a degree designed to help you enter the workforce immediately, or earn credits that may be transferred to a 4-year degree program. Here you will find quality education, dedicated faculty and staff, small class sizes, individual attention, student services, and exceptionally affordable tuition.

This year Highlands lost an invaluable faculty member, instructor, role model, mentor, and friend with the recent passing of Vickie Petritz.

Vickie was an instructor at Highlands for 26 years. In that time she took many, many students under her wing and helped them to grow and become employed in the accounting field. Her students loved her and she loved them in return. Those of us who had the pleasure of working with her over the years will miss her greatly and will have a huge void to fill in her absence.

To honor her memory, we would like to construct the Vickie Petritz Memorial Garden at Highlands College. We have plans to place a metal silhouette of a teacher in the garden to honor Vickie, which will be constructed in our Highlands College welding department. We envision perennial flowers along with pavers and a large tree in the middle of the area. When complete, we will plan a garden dedication ceremony for her family, friends, and colleagues to attend. We hope to have the garden finished this fall and to realize this goal, we are asking if you would consider making a gift in Vickie’s memory today.
