Montana Tech (then the Montana State School of Mines) opened its doors to our first 39 students on the 11th of September 1900 with one building (Main Hall) and two degrees (Mining Engineering and Electrical Engineering). It was our DayOne. Now, 120 years later, we boast two growing campuses between Montana Tech and Highlands College and offer over 60 degrees.
For 120 years Montana Tech has connected focused students to a network of people, opportunities, and experiences that empower them to change the world. To celebrate our history and our growth, we will hold our fourth annual two day digital fundraising event DayOne on the 10th and 11th of September 2020. The goal is to bring together our Montana Tech community, to share what is happening on our campuses, and raise funds for our students, departments and programs in focused areas.
During the event we will also have special matching opportunities for our Departments and Programs, First Time Donors, Student Donors and Faculty and Staff Donors. Below is a description of each:
DayOne Departmental Challenge - Total match dollars $20,000

The top ten finishers split the pot, valued at up to $20,000, ranging from $5,000 for the top finisher to $500 for 10th place.
