Civil Engineers design, build, supervise, and construct sustainable projects and systems in public and private sectors. Projects are wide in scope and can include: buildings, roads, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and municipal systems. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at Montana Tech offers students courses that meet the needs in 5 areas of study: Sustainable Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Transportation Engineering.
The Montana Tech Civil Engineering program features strong industry collaboration and incorporation of industry professionals into its curriculum either through the teaching of select courses or supervision of senior design projects. Students are able to visit job sites and experience real-world examples through their curriculum and are prepared to graduate with strong industry connections and experience.
To help meet this need and graduate more engineers it is imperative we increase our available scholarships, invest in our department, and support experiential learning opportunities for our students provided by our student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). With your help, this DayOne we are raising funds for our Civil Engineering Scholarship, Civil Engineering Departmental Fund, and Montana Tech Chapter of ASCE.
The Civil Engineering program at Montana Tech is very student-centric. We are invested in the success of our students and recognize that increased Civil Engineering Scholarship dollars allow for support of current students and recruitment of future students.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, during DayOne 2021 each gift to the Civil Engineering Scholarship will be matched 1:1 up to $1,000.
We also know how important it is to raise funds to support our department as a whole with a gift to the Montana Tech Civil Engineering Departmental Fund. Increased funds allow our Civil Engineering Department to best support our students, provide continued professional development for faculty, opportunities for field trips and conferences, and resources to acquire innovative and needed equipment.
The Montana Technological University student chapter of The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) provides civil engineering students not only the resources they need to excel academically but also instills the characteristics and provides the opportunities that they will need to excel professionally. ASCE aims to develop well-rounded civil engineers to send off into the workforce. Montana Tech ASCE is asking for your support to help provide both the education and hands-on experiences we know will enrich and prepare our ASCE members. Your generosity will allow us to host our Lunch-and-Learn events and will provide the means to purchase materials and equipment to make our concrete canoe and cover travel expenses.
Please consider giving today to any or all of our focuses during DayOne. Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media, by email, and tell your friends!
