Raising Funds to Support Students in Biological Sciences and Exercise Health Sciences

For nearly 125 years, Montana Tech has opened doors of opportunity for students to explore, discover, and lead. Today, our Department of Biological Sciences continues that proud legacy as a gateway to expansive possibilities in medicine, veterinary medicine, wildlife biology, exercise and health science, and graduate studies.

At Montana Tech, biology students don’t just learn in classrooms—they actively engage in research. Through independent projects and collaborations with faculty, students gain hands-on experience tackling real-world questions. Our location near three national parks, wilderness areas, wildlife management areas, and world-class trout streams provides unparalleled opportunities for field research and outdoor learning. Small class sizes and close student-faculty interactions create a personalized and rigorous academic experience.

Investing in Students, Growing the Program

Scholarship support is vital to enriching the student experience and ensuring the continued growth of our programs. By contributing to scholarships like the Biological Sciences Departmental Scholarship and the Health and Exercise Science Scholarship, you empower students with hands-on opportunities and help them reach their educational goals.

Biological Sciences Departmental Scholarships help us recruit and retain students who are passionate about biology, providing them with resources to learn, research, and thrive in our unique setting.

The Health and Exercise Science Scholarship supports students pursuing careers as health, safety, fitness, or medical professionals. With a science-based curriculum focused on wellness, exercise physiology, and occupational health and safety, these students are preparing to improve lives and communities.

DayOne 2025 Matching Opportunities

During DayOne, thanks to the generosity of Jack ’73 and Leah McCarthy:

All gifts to the Biological Sciences Departmental Scholarships will be matched 1:1 up to $2,000.

All gifts to the Health and Exercise Science Scholarship will be matched 1:1 up to $1,000.

Your support during DayOne not only strengthens our students’ futures—it honors Montana Tech’s 125 years of excellence. By giving, you ensure that the next generation of scientists, healthcare providers, and innovators can thrive in an environment rooted in discovery, hands-on learning, and community.
