Investing In Our Program and Students

As Montana Tech marks 125 years of educating determined doers, we’re also proud to celebrate a program with deep roots and proven impact. Environmental Engineering at Montana Tech—one of the oldest and most established programs of its kind—celebrated 50 years in 2023. Our graduates lead where it matters most: safeguarding air and water quality, managing hazardous and solid wastes, remediating soils, preventing pollution, assessing health risks, and reclaiming land.

A hands-on education—shaped by the real world

Environmental Engineering at Montana Tech blends a rigorous, broad-based science and engineering foundation with advanced, practice-focused courses. Students learn how pollutants are generated, measured, and controlled in discussion-rich classrooms and hands-on labs, and through field experiences that turn knowledge into impact.

Your support fuels the people, tools, and experiences that define our program:

Flexible, immediate resources for student support, faculty professional development, field trips and conferences, and innovative equipment that keeps our teaching and research on the leading edge.

50th Anniversary Environmental Engineering Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Established by Environmental Engineering alumni, this scholarship is awarded annually to a sophomore, junior, or senior in Environmental Engineering—helping talented students persist and thrive.

DayOne Matching Opportunity:

Thanks to Nick '92 and Kari '94 Olds, every gift to the Environmental Engineering Department Fund or the 50th Anniversary Environmental Engineering Alumni Endowed Scholarship will be matched 1:1, up to $2,000.
