The Geological Engineering students and faculty appreciate and thank you for your generous contributions to help us grow and thrive. DayOne donations have been crucial in both attracting and retaining students in our program.
For 125 years, Montana Tech has prepared determined doers to solve real-world problems. Our Geological Engineering graduates work around the globe—searching for mineral resources and evaluating rocks, soils, groundwater, and environmental impacts for construction, resource development, and major industrial projects.
Our program combines rigorous classroom learning with hands-on experiences in the field and lab. Students benefit from a state-of-the-art triaxial testing lab, an underground mine facility, and a computer lab equipped with geotechnical engineering and groundwater modeling software. A signature of the curriculum is our intensive 4-week summer field camp: two weeks of field geology plus two weeks in either field hydrology or geotechnical engineering. This immersive experience is integral to a Montana Tech geological engineer’s education.
This DayOne, we’re investing in the next generation of geological engineers by focusing on:
Geological Engineering Department Fund – fuels outreach and recruitment, supports student success, reduces financial barriers with geological field camp scholarships, and provides tools, software, and experiential learning opportunities.
DayOne Matching Opportunity
Thanks to a generous gift from Nick ’92 and Kari ’94 Olds, all gifts to the Geological Engineering Department Fund will be matched 1:1, up to $2,000 during DayOne.
Double your impact and help us recruit, retain, and graduate outstanding geological engineers.
Celebrate Montana Tech’s 125 years of hands-on excellence by investing in Geological Engineering today.
