For 50 years, Montana Technological University’s Safety, Health & Industrial Hygiene (SHIH) Department has empowered students through transformative, science-based learning—preparing competent leaders who keep people, workplaces, and communities safe. As Montana Tech celebrates 125 years of hands-on education and industry partnership, SHIH continues that proud tradition with a future-focused mission: recruit more exceptional students and give them the tools to thrive.

We’ve been fortunate to see strong enrollment over the years. To keep growing—and to recruit the next wave of safety leaders—we need flexible resources that can move at the speed of opportunity. Gifts to the Safety, Health & Industrial Hygiene Department Fund help us:

  • Recruit and reach more students with targeted outreach, events, and marketing.
  • Offer more scholarships that make SHIH accessible and competitive.

During DayOne Departments competed head-to-head for a chance to earn extra money towards their department project by bringing in the most donors to their project. The top ten finishers split the pot valued at up to $20,000.
