DayOne 2025: A Celebration of Impact, Tradition, and the Future

This year’s DayOne is unlike any other. Not only will your gift support the academic programs, scholarships, research, and student experiences that define Tech, but it will also kick off Montana Tech’s 125th anniversary celebration—a yearlong tribute to our pioneering past and bold future.

For 125 years, Montana Technological University has stood as a beacon of innovation, perseverance, and opportunity in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Since opening our doors on September 11, 1900, as the Montana State School of Mines, we have empowered generations of determined doers to push boundaries, solve global challenges, and shape industries.

Now, as we celebrate this milestone year, we invite you to take part in both DayOne 2025 and the 125th anniversary festivities.

From noon on September 10 through noon on September 12, alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends across the globe will come together to honor our legacy, celebrate our community, and fuel the momentum of Montana Tech’s next 125 years. DayOne is more than a fundraising campaign—it’s a rally for Oredigger spirit, a recognition of our roots, and a spark that ignites opportunities for generations to come.

During this 48-hour campaign, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Amplify your impact with transformative matches and challenges—including opportunities for first-time donors, student donors, faculty and staff, and the popular Department Leaderboard Challenge.
  • Honor the legacy of Tech’s trailblazers who helped shape our university and community.
  • Celebrate 125 years of milestones through stories, videos, and live updates from campus.
  • Fuel the future by supporting the programs, scholarships, and initiatives that will define the next century of Oredigger excellence.

During our DayOne 2025 event, in addition to project-specific matches, we will have special matching opportunities for our First Time Donors, Student Donors, and Faculty and Staff Donors, as well as a participation-based Departmental Challenge. We will share more information about matching and challenge opportunities as the event gets closer. 

As an added bonus, 125 DayOne 2025 donors will be randomly selected at the conclusion of the event to receive a one-of-a-kind Dig City Supply T-shirt. Make sure to select your shirt size on the donation form so that you are eligible. Plus, every DayOne 2025 donor will receive a sticker celebrating Montana Tech's 125 Celebration with their gift receipt letter.
