At Montana Tech, Computer Science is where creative ideas become practical solutions. Students learn to solve complex problems, build reliable software, protect digital systems, and create technology that serves people, organizations, and communities.

The department brings together bachelor’s programs in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity and Network Technology, along with applied degree pathways in Web Development and Administration and Computer Networking and Security. Together, these programs prepare students for a wide range of careers in a field that continues to shape how we work, communicate, and live.

Small class sizes and close faculty interaction give students a supportive environment in which to develop strong technical and professional skills. Through coding challenges, cyber defense competitions, capstone projects, and other applied experiences, students turn classroom knowledge into practical accomplishments that prepare them for internships and careers.

Gifts to the Computer Science Department Fund provide flexible support to best serve students and strengthen the program. These gifts can help fund recruitment scholarships, reduce financial barriers for students, support experiential learning opportunities, and address the department’s greatest needs.
