Electrical engineering powers the systems that keep modern life moving. From energy and controls to communications, automation, and technology, Montana Tech graduates help design, develop, and improve the infrastructure used by communities and industries every day.

Demand for Oredigger electrical engineers continues to grow, particularly in the power and controls industries throughout Montana and the Northwest. Montana Tech is working to introduce more students to these career opportunities, help them build a strong academic foundation, and prepare them to enter the profession ready to contribute.

Connecting, Creating, and Leading

DayOne gifts will support three priorities within Electrical Engineering: outreach and recruitment, senior design, and student clubs.

Outreach efforts help faculty connect personally with prospective students, visit high schools, welcome students to campus, and demonstrate the possibilities available through electrical engineering.

Senior design projects give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned to meaningful industry challenges. These experiences strengthen technical abilities, teamwork, communication, and professional confidence.

Student clubs create additional opportunities for students to collaborate, compete, lead, and develop connections that enrich their Montana Tech experience.

DayOne 2026 Matching Opportunity

Thanks to the generosity of alumni Nick ’92 and Kari ’94 Olds, all gifts supporting the Electrical Engineering Outreach and Recruitment fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.
