Help Ripple Inspire Brighter Futures for Montana's Next Generation of Environmental Stewards With the Story of the Clark Fork Watershed

Ripple (formerly CFWEP) has spent more than 21 years telling the story of the Clark Fork to teach and inspire Montana's next generation of conservationists, scientists, restoration technicians, and environmental stewards with place-based education. Our team works to ensure that the Clark Fork's will to restoration and care for the Clark Fork never fades. We need your support to continue inspiring generations of change-makers, problem-solvers, and conservation-minded Montanans with education.

The Clark Fork Mega Superfund Site has required close to 30 years of scientific research, developments, and restoration activities. The Clark Fork and Silver Bow Creeks are living histories of the massive advancements made in restoration sciences in that time. 

In our team's estimation, there is no better way to show students what they can do with the right know-how and community will. There are at least 30-years of restoration work left to go, making Ripple's message crucial for students hoping to build a career in STEM, environmental sciences, and conservation.

Connecting K-12 Students to Higher Education

Ripple regularly works with Montana Tech's Biology, Ecology, and Environmental Engineering Departments to develop curriculum resources and design programming. This work creates a direct connection between students throughout Montana to crucial components of a robust STEM education. This connection provides important recruitment and outreach for Montana Tech.  

Ripple is recognized as a Program of Distinction by Montana Tech, and as a Center of Excellence with the Montana University System. This means that Ripple is recognized by Montana Tech as a powerful tool for student engagement and recruitment. We cultivate scientifically literate citizens and prepare tomorrow's problem-solvers. Our work removes barriers and guides Montana citizens toward STEM, post-secondary education, and Montana Technological University.

Diverse Programming That Ripples Through Communities

Ripple leads community clean-up days, in-school science education, teacher trainings, community events, and stormwater education events (to name a few). Everything we do is meant to enrich the students, teachers, and communities we serve. To date, that number has reached over 90,000 students and 1000 teachers across Montana.
