Research at Montana Tech begins with curiosity and leads to solutions that make a difference. Undergraduate and graduate students work alongside faculty to explore important questions involving natural resources, energy, advanced materials, environmental restoration, human health, biotechnology, and other critical fields.

These experiences allow students to apply classroom knowledge, use advanced technology, work across disciplines, and develop the creativity and problem-solving skills needed to become researchers and industry leaders.

Undergraduate Research

Montana Tech undergraduates can become involved in research from their first year through graduation. Students collaborate with faculty, participate in academic year and summer research programs, contribute to public health internships, and present their findings at regional, national, and international conferences.

Gifts to Undergraduate Research can support student scholarships, research supplies, software, conference travel, and paid opportunities that allow more students to participate in meaningful discovery.


Graduate Research

Graduate students take research further by addressing complex challenges through advanced study and focused investigation. They bring ideas from the laboratory into practical application while developing expertise, leadership, and innovative thinking.

Gifts to Graduate Research can support student projects, laboratory resources, travel, presentations, and other experiences that strengthen graduate education and expand Montana Tech’s research impact.
