Montana Tech engineers, scientists, and professionals are known for rolling up their sleeves and solving difficult problems. The Lance College of Mines and Engineering prepares students to carry that practical spirit into careers that strengthen infrastructure, responsibly develop resources, advance technology, and support communities.

Led by Dean Dr. Jack Skinner, the college brings together programs in mining, geological, civil, construction, mechanical, electrical, environmental, metallurgical and materials, and petroleum engineering, as well as computer science and safety and health.

Students learn from experienced faculty in the classroom, laboratories, the field, and collaborative projects that connect theory with practice. This combination of rigorous academics, personal mentorship, and applied experience prepares graduates to contribute from day one of their careers.

Flexible Support for Students and Programs

Gifts to the Lance College of Mines and Engineering Dean Fund provide flexible resources that can be directed toward the college’s most important needs and promising opportunities.

Donor support can expand experiential learning and undergraduate research, improve laboratories and equipment, strengthen field experiences, support professional development, and advance student recruitment and retention. This flexibility allows the college to respond quickly as technologies evolve and new opportunities emerge.
