Supporting Montana Tech Students

College brings opportunities, but it can also bring unexpected challenges. The Dean of Students Fund and the Kasperick Emergency Fund give Montana Tech the flexibility to support students through difficult moments while creating experiences that help them feel connected, engaged, and able to succeed.

Kasperick Emergency Fund

Created by longtime faculty member and administrator Joe Kasperick, the Kasperick Emergency Fund provides immediate, compassionate assistance to students facing unforeseen financial emergencies.

A medical bill, housing crisis, family emergency, or unexpected loss should not prevent a student from completing a degree. Gifts to this fund help Student Affairs respond quickly and provide the stability students need to remain enrolled and continue moving toward graduation.

Dean of Students Fund

The Dean of Students Fund provides flexible resources that support student engagement, personal development, wellbeing, and success.

Gifts help create meaningful experiences, respond to emerging student needs, and strengthen the sense of connection that makes Montana Tech a distinct and caring community. This support allows the Dean of Students to invest in opportunities that help Orediggers build relationships, become involved, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

DayOne 2026 Matching Opportunities

Thanks to the generosity of Jack ’73 and Leah McCarthy, all gifts to the Kasperick Emergency Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2,000.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni Nick ’92 and Kari ’94 Olds, all gifts to the Dean of Students Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.
